Morning Routine
Let’s talk about routines. I am absolutely obsessed with routines. Even though I’m all over the place, most of the time! These are the things I feel help me stay grounded, and enable me to be my best self. I see different routines work for different people, and it is fun noticing trends! The thing I notice most is those with the healthiest habits, are the healthiest people.
Morning is my absolute most productive time of the day. I love writing down my ideal day before I do it. Every detail for an ideal day. Not a vacation day (because that would get old) but your ideal work/home life.
So let me back up and explain how this started. A few months ago I was thinking about my routine. I would wrote down my ideal day, and found that I was never doing it! It frustrated me, and I was feeling like i wasn’t being true to myself. After trying to change in my circumstance, I realized that wasn’t working, and I needed to change my circumstance. I needed a change, so I left my job. I transitioned to doing Pure JJ, and other forms of coaching. The decision to make a big change was scary at first, but now I feel free. I really do think when you do what you love, its fun. As cheesy as it is. It’s not roses all the time, I feel like I’m working like a maniac; BUT I get do what I want and how I want to do it. I am a Personal trainer, health coach, recipe developer, photographer, graphic designer, website creator, marketer, coach, fundraiser and so on….. AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. With all of the different things going on in my life, my routine helps me stay sane.
Keeping this routine as best I can allows my brain to have energy and focus for things that matter; instead of with what will I eat for lunch? This helps the healthy decisions come naturally. ITS ALL ABOUT HABITS. If rowing for so many years at a high level taught me anything, its that a good routine is the thing that makes life easy!
Jess’s Daily Weekday Routine:
6:30am: (Day I don’t have a client session before. If I have any early session I do this after)
Wake up
Make bed
Let the dog out
Drink 16 oz room temp purified water
Bathroom routine:
Coconut pull for 10’
While doing that use my home-made witch hazel toner on my face
Use tongue scraper. Once you start you won’t ever go back! Teeth brush
Journal: right down schedule for the day so I get all my thoughts from the night before off my mind and onto paper before I forget! Sometimes I feel like I have so many ideas that it causes me to have anxiety so it feels really nice writing them down.

Since it’s Tuesday, Tuesdays are Taco Days. So we mix it up but honestly it never gets old! But mostly we do some sort of variation of salmon, veggies, salsa, and guac over almond or cassava flour tortillas.

8:30p: Get home from work, Zach makes tea, get on pjs as fast as possible, phones away. Right now its definitely hard to do this. Bringing on lots of new clients, and I need to be better at setting boundaries.
